We will have a new wine tour to Champagne this autumn. The dates are September 11 to 15, at the very beginning of autumn. It’s a tour that the champagne lover really should not miss. Filled with delicious wines and luxurious food.
There are many ways to do a wine tour of Champagne. You can travel on your own, with any tour operator, find something local to help you or other options. But there’s probably nothing to give you an experience quite like this tour with BKWine.
The tour is filled with excellent wines and delicious top-class French gastronomy. Our lunches, not least in Champagne, have quite a reputation. There will be no picnic. There is no “lunch on your own” at a café. Instead, we have “serious” (well, not too serious) gastronomic experiences. Usually, we have lunch at wine producers’; it can even be literally at their home. It’s usually three-course meals or four. Rarely a lunch (with us) in France without cheese, especially as there are so many exciting cheeses here in the region.
With the food, we serve, of course!, champagne. Do you fear that you will miss the red wine to the juicy meat, or the chablis to the fish? I promise you that you will not miss it. Instead, you will discover new combinations of champagne, matching champagne with food! You will see how amazingly well it can go with food. Three-four-five different champagnes for lunch is not uncommon.
I can also promise you very special winery and vineyard visits. Yes, we do visit one of the big “houses” so that you will see some impressive cellars. But we skip Champagne B***, H***, M***, V***, L***, P*** and so on. The big and famous “houses”.
We do not feature them on our program because you will get the best and most exciting champagne experiences with the smaller producers. Smaller houses, and especially at the independent growers’. There is a minimal (non-existent) chance that you will meet the winemaker or the owner if you visit those who make 2 million or 5 million or 20 million bottles. The chance is great, though, that you will be driven around in an underground tourist train. And it’s actually the meetings with the people that become the most wonderful experiences on most tours.
Instead of that kind big-brand focus, we will take you to those who really work in the vineyards and in the wine cellar. On many of our visits, you will meet the winemaker or the owner. Often both, since it may be the same person. Therefore, most of the names of the champagne producers that you find in our program might not be very familiar to you. But I can promise you both that the visits are more exciting and the champagnes are better, much better and more original than if you visit the well-known “houses” that you can buy at all airports around the world.
If you are a die-hard “bucket list” person and want to tick names, then this might not be for you, but if you love good wine and good food, then we look forward to meeting you on our tours.
So why not jump in and go for this amazing and original wine experience this fall! We can promise that it will be a memorable tour with many great champagne and food experiences.

And just to finish:
You do know that we have written an internationally award-winning book about Champagne? One of the very few books that really tells you all about Champagne, explains how the wine is made, a little bit of history and geography, grape varieties, and terroir, some secrets no one else writes about, and many, many producer recommendations. Unfortunately, it is currently only available in Swedish. Maybe in English one day…
You can hardly find a better wine tour in Champagne than one designed by the author of one of the best books on this bubbly wine!
