South Africa’s first wine tourism show

“For the first time in world history” (as one might say) South Africa organises a wine tourism show. It is called Vindaba and takes place on September 26-27 this year, in parallel to Cape Wine, the professional wine trade fair.

Today, wine tourism has become very important for South Africa. It was not long ago that the Minster of Tourism, Marthinus Van Schalkwyk, made a speech where he underlined the importance of wine travel and wine toursim to the South African economy.

There are over 20 wine routes that you can travel to discover the wine districts of South Africa. Many South African vineyards and wineries have restaurants and some even have hotels.

But if you really want to get behind the scenes of the South African wine districts then you might be well adviced to come to a specialist in wine travel and tourism, like BKWine. We currently don’t have a wine tour to South Africa on our scheduled program in English (we do for the Scandinavian market) but we would be glad to discuss a custom tour, or perhaps put it on the schedule if you are interested!
