Quite a while back by now we organised our first ever wine tour to Croatia: a few days with winery visits in Istria, wine tastings, gourmet lunches, and much more. We also had the opportunity to taste the white truffle, the same white truffle as they have in Piemonte in northern Italy: tuber magnatum pico.
We had two (!) truffle lunches, one at the best restaurant in Istria, a charming country-side luxury hotel, and one in a more rustic auberge where we had the possibility to buy some truffles to take home. Of course we also had quite a few (many!) wines: a lot of malvasija, the genuine Istrian variety, and teran, made from the grape variety called teran that is a close relative to the northern Italian grape refosco. Italy is only a few tens of kilometers away.
One of the guest (actually a couple, who have been on several BKWine tours previously) on the Istria wine and food tour had this to say:
We have just come back from a wine tour to Croatia. It was four very enjoyable days with superb wines and wonderful lunches. The Croatian wines were an exciting acquaintance, especially the white wines made from the malvazia grape variety. As always it was very cozy and friendly and relaxed on Britt’s and Per’s tours. Everything is well planned and works perfectly and they take so good care of their guests.

We are happy that you enjoyed the tour and say thank you for the kind words.
