Travel to Champagne in the autumn?

Champagne is one of our most popular wine tour destinations. It is not surprising. It is a world famous wine, a beautiful region, with a delicious gastronomy. With easy access from Paris. It has many things to offer the curious traveller, especially if you want to discover the top quality wines, the hidden gems, that are not always the grandes marques.

A wine tour to Champagne is of course entirely dedicated to this exuberant, festive, luxurious drink. But it will also show that champagne is not just for such occasions but also excellent for other more “normal” occasions. For example, champagne is a perfect wine to drink right through a meal.

There will be several meals on this tour that will be 100% champagne. And since it is in Champagne so you can expect that there will not be just any old food… It will be really luxurious. There will be both “regular” champagne, vintage champagne, premier cru bubbles, and grand cru champagnes. And with gastronomic food that fits all of the above!

The trip is a mixture of some big well-known names and some smaller producers. We will focus most on the smaller producers. There are perhaps a number of producer names that you will not recognize. Outside of the Champagne region the well-known names tend to be the internationally established brands. But then one misses small niche producers making very delicious wines but only in small quantities. We will showcase these too. I am confident that you will be impressed by them when you get there!

It’s a completely different experience to come home to the winemaker meet him, his sister and mother and try their wines…

But it is not just wine. Food too, of course, where champagne is known for its elegant classic French gastronomy. And also beautiful landscapes, rural villages, and more. We will certainly also have time for a visit to the stunning Cathedral of Reims (UNESCO World Heritage Site) with stained glass windows by Chagall.

So, if you are curious to discover champagne (the wine) and Champagne (the region) and enjoy a few days with a lot of bubbles… Contact us!
