UNESCO World Heritage Wine region #7: Pantelleria

Share/like this post:

I recently wrote about wine regions which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here comes the next wine district.

Pantelleria is a tiny windswept island just off Sicily. The island has a very special landscape and also makes very special wines, such as passito de Pantelleria from the local grape variety zibibbo.

It is not easy to reach the island of Pantelleria. It is quite a journey. We have not yet made a wine tour to Pantelleria, partially for this reason. However, we have several times organized wine tours to Sicily. Sometimes Sicily is on our regular tour program but not this year. Otherwise, the wine tour to Sicily is made as a bespoke trip for small groups.

BKWine’s Asa has written an interesting article about Pantelleria and its wines on BKWine Magazine.

Read more on the wine regions that have been included on the Unesco World Heritage list; the next article will be published in a day or so.
