On the wine & food tour Three Classics: “perhaps the most delicious meal I’ve ever eaten”

Our wine tours naturally have the emphasis on wine, but we also put great importance on the food and the gastronomic experience. To drink wine is intimately connected with food.

So when you visit a wine region it is important to also experience the typical local food, the regional gastronomy. At least that’s what we think.

What this means is of course different in different wine regions.

One of our most popular trips is the Three Classics wine tour that goes to Champagne, Chablis and then either Burgundy or Sancerre. Which of the two latter varies. Both are very interesting. In Champagne it is of course often very luxurious. Champagne is an exclusive and luxurious drink.

We received an email from a tour participant on the wine and food tour Three Classics in the spring:

Dear Britt and Per,

A big, heartfelt thank you for a couple of fantastic “wine days” with you as our guides in the heart of the French white wine districts.

In a nice and inspirational way we were given the chance to take part of your vast knowledge of the wine(s), from the agrarian part, not least the importance of geography, to the production and craftsmanship of the different wines and finally your personal views of the wines and wineries.

At the vineyards and wineries that you had chosen we were greeted by inspiring and enthusiastic winemakers, who were (justifiably) proud and who lovingly described their activities, often both in a historical and contemporary perspective.

The subsequent tastings and descriptions of the “products” crowned the visits. The champagne lunch was for me the unforgettable climax of the tour in hard competition with dinner at l’Hostellerie des Clos, who presented us with among the most delicious things I think I have ever eaten, “Morilles fraiches farcies de foie gras dance leur jus à l’echallote “.

Once again thank you for all for this outstanding experience.
